Texas SB 17 / HB 2827 is a discriminatory bill that Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has put on his list of “must pass” bills this session. SB 17 passed the Senate in early April, so we now need your help to stop this bill in the Texas House of Representatives.

This bill allow anyone who holds a professional license to discriminate based on their religious beliefs. License holders in Texas include health care professionals, counselors, lawyers and those in dozens of other professions. This bill would allow them to impose religious litmus tests on potential customers and patients in order to deny goods, services, or care.

HB 2827 is assigned to the House State Affairs Committee. Please use this form to send an email to the committee members asking them to oppose this #LicenseToDiscriminate bill.
